ZuneTV: Goodbye to reformatting Web Videos

Sardar Mohkim Khan

ZuneTVMicrosoft’s Zune media has launched a new video site after a pretty slack response since their portable media launch late 2006

Created by ZuneBoards, ZuneTV is appealing to the web video fans as it who like to enjoy their video clips without the necessity to reformat the downloaded files (they are setup as *.wmv files), The purpose lies in making the media portable in every sense; just download, sync and play!

Resembling YouTube in layout, except for the very limited content and the pallet, it has a mere 201 videos from 69 individuals. Will it grow further? Well according to Paul Glazowski; even if 70% of the Zune users move to ZuneTV, it will still be very far behind YouTube (even its competitors).

At present it seems that only Microsoft’s devotees would show loyalty to ZuneTV. Nevertheless, given the uncompetitive marketplace for the concerned media and added user weightage, it might just turn into a success story.
