Yesterday I published an issue with the 30GB Zune describing about the rebooting issue it faced. Today we get another issue about a bug which could not detect a leap year (what immatureness by Microsoft). Sometime around 2:00 AM last night the 31st of December 2008, the 30 gigabyte version of the device became “totally unresponsive and practically useless” and ALL of them, literally ALL of the devices where ever they are on earth were frozen unresponsive.
Microsoft has confirmed the worst on the Zune Insider blog:
We were made aware of a widespread issue facing owners of Zune 30 devices this morning. That being the case, the issue should be resolved over the next 24 hours as the time change moves to January 1, 2009. We expect the internal clock on the Zune 30GB devices will automatically reset tomorrow (noon, GMT).We have a technical team working hard to isolate the issue right now and will update everyone as much as possible. Thanks for your patience while we get to the bottom of this.
Remember Skynet brethren inTerminator 2: Judgement Day? I say similarly the Zunes have become self-aware.
We don’t realize it yet, but in a few hours, the Zunes are all going to wake up at the exact same time and launch a war on humanity. They will start by disabling our…wait…They are all frozen until now!!! (
