Zoomix is an Israeli startup that develops and markets software which enables enterprise data with precise and complete data with the business network. The self learning technology combines advance semantic a linguistic analysis with machine learning n order to automatically and precisely classify and standardize the complex data; which includes the varying product and financial data.
The latest buzz at Zoomix is that Microsoft has announced its acquisition of Zoomix for an amount around $20 to $30 million; which is yet to be confirmed. With this acquisition, the Zoomix team is set to join Microsoft’s R&D centre in Israel with the company’s Zoomix Accelerator will be molded into the SQL Server group of Microsoft. In a press release by Zoomix, Moshe Lichtman, Vice President of Microsoft International and President of R&D in Israel said:
Microsoft’s additional investment in Israel takes our R&D center into the field of solutions for databases, a field that is growing rapidly and is very strategic for Microsoft International. Zoomix will contribute a critical layer of data improvement to Microsoft’s SQL Server Data Platform.
Amir Biran, CEO of Zoomix opined that the present deal was necessary in order to maximize the core potential technologies of Zoomix. As he mentioned:
Our goal at Zoomix is to leverage new, sophisticated technological approaches to address critical data quality challenges in-line with enterprise business processes. Microsoft has the vision and the business scale required to maximize the potential of Zoomix’s core technologies by building them into data quality solutions which will provide in-line data improvement capabilities for a variety of applications and industries.
On behalf of Microsoft; the deal is to integrate automated data-quality technology to its database product with an aim to correct it at the earliest.
