When you say Android or Apple iPhone people by default think it’s about high priced only for rich smartphones. They aren’t wrong initially, especially in Pakistan where people would want a nice phone with maximum features but affordable enough for everyone. I mean iPhone 4 can cost you a good $1,000 and the cheapest Android Handset from HTC would be $350 plus. These phones, being really worth the price aren’t one meant for everyone’s pocket. However Zong Telecom, keeping the whole price factor and user demand in sight has introduced an all new handset running on the Android version 2.2 aka Froyo.
The phone manufacturer is Huawei that has introduced many CDMA mobile handsets across the country. This Android based phone is called the Zong IDEOS and offers the features that you would find on any other Android based devices. What’s more important is that this Android based smartphone might be the cheapest one out there priced at less than $200 [PKR 15,999].
IDEOS boasts a 528 MHz Qualcomm processor, a 3.2 Megapixel camera and support for a MicroSD card. And honestly speaking the device looks impressive enough, especially for the price it is being provided. I guess this will definitely live up to its name and motto and provide everyone the opportunity to buy a smartphone.
I am waiting to get my hands on it. The features are as follows:

Hello All,
Today I visited zong franchise for buying the set. It looks great in the videos, pics and seem it has good features. Actually it got the good features and it has Android latest version Froyo 2.
But when I asked for a demo, they gave me the set. My first impression was ok. But when I starting using it, it was a complete failure. It has very low quality hardware. While grabbing the set you seem you have a toy in your hand. It got very very small screen which makes it more worst.
I hardly used that demo for 2 – 3 minutes and left the franchise.
So that was my experience. Please do post yours if you able to get hand on one.
But I think if its price bring down between 11K to 12K then one can think of buying it. In currant price 16K it is a totally bad deal.

From the sources I have the ZONG IDEOS will be sold for a mere 8K to 10K max in the next coupple of months.

I haven’t tested this particular model, but I recommend the Samsung S 5620 or the LG gt540 as cheap alternatives with much better specs.
