Zoho, an online office suite provider has announced the launch of recordable macros in their Zoho Sheet application. Creating a macro is now a relatively easy task, all you have to do is click on the start macro recording button and the complete your desired actions and than click on the stop button. Once you have done all this Zoho generates Visual Basic code which you can pick and modify it to tweak even further.
The new feature will make macro creation easier for people who do not have any prior knowledge of Visual Basic. Zoho is slowly but surely building a definite competitor to MS Office in the online space. In addition to this they have also released other business oriented applications like CRM, HRM, Invoicing and Project Management apps.
Zoho faces stiff competition from Google Docs which has an added advantage of being a Google product, which could be easily integrated with other Google products like Gmail, Calendar and the likes to create immense value for the users. Other than this Google Docs continues to add functionality at an immense pace. But this clearly is a new space and we don’t have a clear winner in here so there is room for more than one player in this market.
With the new release Zoho sheet becomes the only product outside of Microsoft that supports auto generation of Visual Basic code from user actions.
See a demo video below to know more about this functionality.
