ZocDoc a site that helps users to find and book an appointment with a doctor or a dentist conveniently has raised a funding of $3 million for the Series A round as Allen Stern reports. The round included the ZocDoc board and was led by Khosla Ventures making it their first investment in the healthcare industry.
The service is currently available in the New York City alone and plans are to expand it San Francisco by the coming year. The company hasn’t got much color and flare to offer and it definitely isn’t very noisy with its publicity, all it does is sticking to the job it has been made for.
The site has seen a steady growth, with 90,000 appointments already available and more than 30,000 people have used the service in the last one month. And the CEO, Cyrus Massoumi already eyes at opening the service up and expanding it to a larger number of cities.
Sites like these can really work up their way and actually come out with helping people; I mean we have seen sites that let you book a dining table for lunch or dinner then why not this for those in want of fixing an appointment with a doctor?
