Zemanta, a revolutionary new platform, accelerates online content production for any web user. A user-created text like a blog post, article or web page can be directly read through the Zemanta tool, as it recognizes all contextual content. It then searches the web for the most relevant images, smart links, keywords and text. Thus instantly serving results for the user to enrich and inform their content. The service can also be deployed on all major content publishing platforms & browsers, through its simple plug-in.
Zemanta, the London, UK-based service claims it can make a bloggers demanding job easier, as it suggests relevant content worth linking to or including in your posts. Popular blogger and venture capitalist, Fred Wilson, has been making quite a good use of the tool. His firm, Union Square Ventures, just recently announced investing $ 750,000 worth of financing in the startup. It previously raised $1.5 million in venture backing, although Union Square is its first US investor.
Wilson called Zemanta as, “AdWords for content creators”. Zemanta’ technology is similar to AdWords, as it scans the words on a page, giving relevant suggestion; while not recommending ads!
Now a bit about how the service works:
Zemanta analyzes the content of the user’s post, while searching into a post, every 300 words. It then recommends other blog posts, articles, images ad videos, all through its sidebar plug-in.
Okay so this’s for all you bloggers out there: Zemanta automates most of the processes such as linking, posting and crediting outside content. I guess that would make things easier, or rather faster; for me at least. The tool also works as a plug-in for blogging platforms such as WordPress and Movable Type. Although, if you’re using a platform that isn’t supported; Zemanta works as an extension for the FireFox and IE browsers.
Below are some of the screens showing Zemanta features:
