youtube logoYouTube is going to show an exclusive Olympic videos for all the die-hearts sports fans. While you can track Beijing Olympics 2008 through different ways, IOC has finally launched an online Channel to broadcast Beijing Olympics 2008 and has selected YouTube to stream the huge Event Video. Along with the video updates, the Internet Giant itself has geared up to bring you the latest news on Olympics.

Beijing-Olympic-2008 logoThe International Olympics Committee has recently declared that Google will stream three hours video each day to cover an exclusive Sports content. Instead of a live coverage, the three hour transmission will include daily summaries and highlights about the event on their Olympics dedicated channel. YouTube has genuinely joined the wagon of ever growing number of services that are available to cover Olympics and has make confirmed a deal of transmitting only the ”COPY-RIGHTED’ material eliminating the chances of various clips uploaded by scalable fans and spectators. Though it seems a little tricky for YouTube to make its streaming technique genuinely filtered, but we can’t predict anything right now.

Apparently, the YouTube’s Olympics dedicated Video Streaming will be access by more than 75 places that are uncovered by Olympics Sponsors (including South Korea, Nigeria, India), while they can also earn ad revenue by selling their ads to Olympics Sponsors only.

The service will be unavailable for the US audience as NBC would be governing US with a legitimate online video rights. I think, this will not affect US audience as NBCOlympics is planning to stream live Olympics content of more than 3000 hours. But this can affect the monetary configuration as US alone occupies a matured and materialized online advertising market and will possibly decrease the profit earning by Google.

With a swift increase in the demand of online videos, IOC has taken a right decision to empower the world with an online entertainment. As Timo Lumme, the IOC’s director of television and marketing services, says:

The IOC’s priority is to ensure that as many people as possible get to experience the magic of the Olympic Games and the inspirational sporting achievements of the Olympic athletes. For the first time in Olympic history we will have complete global online coverage, and the IOC will have its own broadcast Channel and content production facilities. The IOC’s Channel will make fantastic Olympic footage available where young generations of sports fans are already going for online entertainment, and will complement the footage offered in these territories by our broadcast partners across all media platforms.

But the number of covered regions share relatively small size of online video audience (will be reached to only 200 million people). This could be possibly an outcome of China’s outrageous YouTube’s Video restriction as China alone has got sizable amount of audience ( approx180 million) who are the regular users of Online Video. People at China will enjoy Olympics Content from CCTV.

It seems quite exciting and this was the most expected thing to be happened as number of available webs are striving really hard to cover this exclusive event and YouTube’s missing name was quiet notable from the list.
