Youtube has now integrated Google translate in its search result. This new feature is currently under test and allows users to translate the search results into their regional languages. The translations could be different from the language of the interface.
Youtube does not translate the titles and descriptions of the videos, but is just testing the feature for the search results at the moment. The translations are being performed using the Google Translate’s Javascript API.
This is the first use of Google’s recently released Google Translate API by Youtube. More widespread use of the API could be safely predicted and we could see these translation features springing up in applications from Google like Gmail, GCal and other web services on Internet in general.
