Researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have come up a with new tool called ContextMiner. This enables anyone to automate the collection of links, online videos and blogs along with their extensive metadata.
Part of NDIIPP VidArch project, the tools provide you with contextual information along with the data it archives. The best part of the tool is that you can make different campaigns to collect data and analyze them appropriately.
What I believe is that marketers will reap out the benefit of this FREE service taking advantages of the analytical data it produces. As looking at the user end, you see many viral videos these days but never know who was the original author, using ContextMiner you can find out who made it and why?
The service is still in the research phase but could prove to be very useful when it comes out.
