Its been a while since I’ve searched any video episodes in Google but after reading Barry Schwartz’s article about Google’s dropped service, I went straight to the search to find out what really is going on and I was disappointed when I saw the option to view videos directly, omitted from the page.
Previously a search returning any video results gave an option to view it on the same page with just a click on plus sign ‘+’, now the option has been removed.
In the past a search result returned the following results
but now the plus option is history
A statement sent to Barry Schwartz from Google reads:
We are constantly experimenting with new features to help improve the search experience. When some features — such as the "Watch Video" link — aren’t as useful as we want them to be, we remove them and go back to experimenting. We’ll continue to try out new features in order to provide the most useful and relevant search experience for our users.
I think Google should have had an official word on this in order to let its users know about it. Secondly, if they are doing any experiment on any feature they should get feedback from users and make it work out. Just saying that it isn’t as useful as we want is something which is not expected from them.
If there are experimental features, they should be specifically defined. Anyway I hope Google should not be as abrupt as it has been while removing this feature and if they plan at something similar, they should at least let their users know about it officially.

Im pretty upset about that. I think they shouldve left it as it was.
