Yidio a new video search site made a launch with nothing radical to offer; keeping in mind what ever has come up in almost two years. It lets you search Internet TV programs, add video from across the web and create a playlist of the videos you like most.
The site makes available certain search filters; like results for keywords base don episodes. But again that leaves the present user discontent; as the present atmosphere disables a user to search for a particular show based on timeline of episodes etc and Yidio is doing nothing unique.
The videos, as we know are users input taken from various websites (YouTube, Hulu etc) and put up here for a view and therefore the content isn’t much varied. Plus the search function is powered by Truveo. The network can fare well by creating communities for video content that can very help it with an efficient organizing as well (seriously the content is too scattered).
The only thing worthwhile they are offering the users (read: enticing them) is by enabling AdSense revenue-sharing; but we know what the split is going to leave for a share (pretty useless).
Yidio can equip itself with more features that make it stand out in the crowd. And the idea of imported recommendations and suggested communities as suggested by Kristen Nicole (Mashable) sounds pretty implemental.
