Yahoo is thinking of opening up to a broader range of technologies, going beyond the search engine image. This was stated by the company’s executive, as earlier this year Yahoo had shown expansion plans through BOSS (Build Your Own Search Service) program. Experiments could be tried with other technologies, such as Flickr.

Andrei Z. Broder, vice president for computational advertising at Yahoo explained that his company is looking to open its search technology to other companies, helping attract startups with new ideas.
