Yahoo must have been rolling in all sorts of trouble but latest reporting puts it in a healthy position at streaming videos. Of course it’s second to the mammoth 5.3 billion streams by YouTube with 264 million, but that number boosted up by 95 million in August.
The point isn’t about comparing Yahoo with YouTube, for the latter simply beats it by an astronomical margin. What’s important here is that Yahoo is still trying to grip the number two slot in the web-sphere. The interesting aspect however is how beats YouTube when it comes to monetizing its video content. That percentage is much higher than YouTube’s three percent videos that are being monetized. Yahoo speaks of this rise coming from the placement of contextual videos and due to major news events.
