We all know that Yahoo will be adding more social features to Yahoo Mail and for that it plans to acquire social email startup Xoopit. The acquisition would cost Yahoo around $20 Million. Xoopit enables sharing media, files, etc on social networks via email (like Gmail) with its Firefox add-on. That would add another service to its services while it continues to shut down others that according to Carol Bartz are more of a weight and less useful. The services that will be going off are Yahoo Hot Jobs and Yahoo Personals, sad but I guess it’s better to concentrate on more fruitful aspects of business instead of having a bulk of them that aren’t good for company’s finances or reputation.
