Yahoo has expanded the SearchMonkey technology use in order to make the search results look neat along with precise information from CitySearch and Zagat. This was announced by the company on Thursday. SearchMonkey is the open platform of Yahoo Search.
The platform gathers semantic web information that is used to assist computers better understand the website data. SearchMonkey can create data like ratings of a movie, category of search, movie release date, timings of restaurants, phone number of a restaurant, etc.
The results enhanced by SearchMonkey can only be seen if either Yahoo turns on the application by default or the user turns on the specific application. Zagat and CitySearch applications will help put in some extra information about the company which will certainly affect the businesses in a positive way.
