We had earlier reported that AOL had announced the closure of its various online services last month as it slowly drags itself to the grave; we also mentioned a transition of AOL’s Xdrive users to other services like Box.net and Drop.io to name a couple.
We got a recent update from Box.net that they are offering a one stop transfer from Xdrive to Box.net. This is done using XDrive to Box.net account converter that requires users to enter their Box.net login and their login at Xdrive and all their data is transferred over to Box.net. The system has been based upon the existing API of AOL’s Xdrive.
There are no additional steps save for that which has been mentioned and if you aren’t registered with Box.net, you can do so easily and transfer your valuable data before AOL gets buried.
