So it isn’t just Sony gearing up to bolster the Xperia X10 with power gaming by combining it with PSP [or something] to challenge iPhone 4 supremacy as a powerful gaming device. Reports today state that Microsoft is doing the same with it Windows Phone 7. Of course they aren’t putting the entire Xbox 360, but those of you who are fans of both Windows Mobiles and the Xbox be prepared to embrace Xbox Live on your Windows powered devices. Talk about a whole new dimension to mobile gaming shaping up pretty quickly.

Engadget has reported a massive 63 game titles to begin with, chances are high that the numbers might actually go higher by the time the devices launch during holidays. The games include names like Guitar Hero, Frogger and my personal favorite, Bejeweled. All titles will be coming straight to Windows Phone 7 via the Xbox Live, Microsoft Games and numerous other publishers namely; Konami Digital Entertainment, THQ and PopCap.

The move, as already stated is to push the idea of mobile devices beyond communication, Apple has definitely taken a lead with the iPhone and the iPad but other manufacturers are gearing up to do the same. The edge they have over iPhone is both Sony and Windows have a long list of quality games to offer to consumers and both have created relevant hardware for gaming purposes. It will be interesting however to see how they compete with Apple when it comes to prices and overall handling and more importantly if these devices are actually able to leverage the gaming bit to gain significant market share.

Following is a list of  24 titles coming to your Windows Phone 7. Do let us know in the comments whether you would opt for the PSP phone of the Windows Phone 7 based on gaming titles!
