Earlier this month, we had a word on WordPress coming to iPhone. Now it is official and the WordPress for iPhone is available on the App Store now. This was announced by Matt Thomas at WordPress for iPhone blog.

According to the blog:

We’re live! WordPress for iPhone just launched on the App Store. Download it now and get to blogging.

Further information regarding the project and how one can contribute in it will be available soon. If at any point you confront any errors or other issues regarding the app, you can report them on a specific page.

This announcement has made the WordPress only company after TypePad which provides a specific blogging app for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Like many others, I also think that blogging through cell phone is not such a good idea but this app may change the trend, but still its gona take a long time. For detailed posts, the app can prove to be hectic but for updating the current posts, it would be a better choice specially when you are on the go.

The app will work on the version 2.5.1 and later of WordPress.com and WordPress.org. Have a look at the video below explaining about the new app.
