Managing files using the traditional folder system searching for a particular document all over my system, within no time I have folders, subfolders, sub-subfolders and the list keeps going deeper. The idea of tagging files so that I can access them with a single click sounds great; Wonderfile comes honking with the same offer.
You can categorize your tags into more refined ones lets say you have got lyrics of your songs and to search for a particular one from the folder sounds pretty hectic and more importantly irritating (I usually give up). With Wonderfile you can upload all such documents and categorize them using tags (lets say according to artist name or whatever suites you). That’s not it; you can add more categories to a single add, year of release, album’s title etc. Its not just documents that you can upload, but it refers to anything on your system, be it mp3s, photos to your presentations.
Users can register for; choosing their account level; the basic feature (that I am using) is free of cost but it is very limited in terms of bandwidth, storage capacity and it does not offer SSL; which means that your activity is not secure. So you have to upgrade your account level once you feel an urge of getting a larger space and more security.
They can do a bit better by providing a bit more storage; plus increase the file size limit for uploads slightly more ( I feel so deprived when professional account gets 1 GB and I 10 MB).
I know what the owner would ‘upgrade to a paid account’, yeah right! Why not a free account be allowed to avail an upload of 20 MB? After all the service won’t be giving a secure activity and users will pay to the nose for privacy.
