I did not say it's would be better to stay with XP, I myself use Vista, but Vista still is not as good as should be when compared to XP. The performace is terrible, as a couple of months old installation of Vista takes some time to get the desktop to a useable form after booting. And I've noticed this on several laptops and computers. Games have lost fps when compared to XP. Sure, high end graphics cards dont let that be noticeable, but the huge majority with budget graphics cards know this for sure. The sidebar is still slow, and has more than 100 unfixed reported bugs, the last time I checked.
I'm fine with using Vista, as it's the new OS, and it's got some features better than XP, but it's not as awesome as it should be. Maybe SP 2 would improve it more, as Steve Ballmer himself said, "Vista is a work in progress".

I just compared what I was experiencing with my 3-years-old-laptop with XP and with Vista.
I can say since I installed Vista (april 2007) it works in a better way. I also noticed the same boost with more recent PCs.
Maybe I'm too lazy and I give too much value to Instant Search, and I'm victim of a sort of placebo-effect.
But so far I can say that Vista is better than XP. At least for what I do with my pc: programming, messaging, internet. Maybe in performance intensive tasks XP is still better, but I have some doubt on it, however in a more general use I think that the game is over. And Vista won it.

Could you please tell me your expereince about Vista and XP and say why you think it would be better stay on the old version of Windows?

@ wisher, what makes you think that Vista supports hardware in the best way possible?? XP still is a good OS, and provides more performance per buck then Vista. Period.

I think that now it's time to switch to another OS. XP was a good OS but now it can't support in the best way the hardware. So I think is a good idea to give XP to history.
