We all know that the main reason behind Vista’s downfall was its non-compatibility with applications and many driver related problems. That could be a sign of under noticing the fact to partner up with companies pre-beforehand the official release of its OS. But this time Microsoft is looking forward to take care of those issues, by partnering up with security firms including Symantec, Kaspersky, AVG etc.
I saw this feature within my copy copy of Windows 7 within the New “Action Centre” alerting me that I didn’t have any security software installed, then eventually taking me to page on Microsoft’s Web site with links to Windows 7-compatible security software.
We all know that by comparison, only one antivirus firm–McAfee–had its security software commercially ready by the time Microsoft launched Vista for businesses in November 2006.
It is great to see that these partners were able to have their solutions working so early in our development process, Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc said in a blog posting..
We determined that we could run reasonably well under Windows 7. There are bugs that we know about, but we’re comfortable enough with the effectiveness of the product that when they called us to participate we took them up on the offer, said Symantec Director Cole.
Does this mean that Microsoft is not letting another failure up its way? We will find out soon.
