Wikipedia Foundation has secured a $890,000 grant from US-based Stanton Foundation to make the website more easy to use so as to increase user participation in editing and creating content on the site. Wikipedia will use the money to hire a team at its San Francisco offices, who would identify and eliminate common bummers that come in the way of people trying to edit Wiki entries.
Sue Gardner, Wikimedia executive director , said that "Wikipedia attracts writers who have a moderate-to-high level of technical understanding, but it excludes lots of smart, knowledgeable people who are less tech-centric. One of our key priorities is to attract those people and persuade them to help write and edit the encyclopedia."
