The blockage of Wikipedia in Germany, due to a court order by a county court in Lübeck is now over, thanks to the media blitz that followed the ban. Wikipedia.de got blocked due to a defamatory (but potentially true) article on a German Member of Parliament Lutz Heilmann who belongs to the post-communist, Left Party. The article contained statements about Heilmann’s past which alleged him of being a member of the Stasi – former secret police of East Germany, setting up a business involving pornography and threatening his ex-boyfriend.
