Western Digital Corp. is laying off 5% from its total staff and with the holidays just around the corner too. The tech storage company is laying off 2,500 employees, and closing its idle plants. The reasons stated are that demands are significantly below expectations. CEO John Coyne states:
We expect demand weakness to last well into the middle of the 2009 calendar year.
