Vodafone has acquired Sweden’s WayFinder, a company that develops mobile GPS-enabled location applications that allow GPS based routing, for €24 million.
WayFinder has developed three products, WayFinder Navigator – a GPS routing app, WayFinder Earth – a POI database, and WayFinder Active – a service that helps athletes monitor their exercise progress.
Vodafone plans to use WayFinder’s technology to develop new and innovative geo-aware applications.
