Communications solution provider PhoneFusion has announced that Android OS and T-mobile G1 will have the Visual Voicemail capability. The application will be available by the end of this year. The service will let users to see graphical representation of their voicemail inbox which is sorted out in sequence by the caller.
According to PhoneFusion’s CEO, Louis Libin:
Our Fusion Voicemail Plus application is tremendously popular with our existing customers who wanted iPhone-type functionality on their favorite devices.
With the launch of T-Mobile’s G1, the first Android-powered smartphone, people have been looking for an innovative visual voicemail app that runs on this breakthrough device. We believe Fusion Voicemail Plus fills this gap, giving the Android community a better way to stay connected when it matters most. We expect this application will quickly become one of the favorites on Android Market.

Thank god. I was beginning to regret my decision to snag a G1 instead of just flushing more money down the Steve Jobs toity. Problem is, without visual voicemail us virtual PBX users can’t retrieve our business messages via pda — it’s a standard offering at companies like http://www.gotvmail.com but you have to have the vv capability to take advantage of it. The G1 is inching closer to ipod killer-ism.
Follow-up question: will this visual voicemail app COST us?
