Virgin Media, the U.K. based cable TV provider, has announced that the company will be laying off 2,200 employees. These jobs makes 15% of the total workforce. Most of these job cuts are expected to occur in the last quarter of next year.
According to Virgin Media’s CEO, Neil Berkett:
These changes are critical to ensuring Virgin Media is positioned to compete effectively and deliver on our customers’ changing expectations. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be developing more detailed proposals for their implementation.
