San Francisco based carrier Virgin America, has decided to offer in-flight Wi-Fi internet connection to their passengers. Currently the service is scheduled for single Airbus A320 aircraft. Other than Virgin America, American Airlines is the only carrier that provides full internet connection. There will be three wireless access points in the plane which will let users to browse, check emails, chat, download, etc. but they won’t be able to make voice calls over internet. Depending on the length of the route, the cost of the service varies between $9.95 – $12.95. The test flight will continue for a week after which the service will be expanded to 24 other planes by the mid of next year. The new service is named Gogo.
