Vimeo has been up and planning at doing quite a bit for the users and it had earlier announced about the hiring of developers the reasons can be many, but as Corvida from RWW reports of Vimeo coming out with an AIR app for its fans as well.
When? Well there is no news as such for the date and time they plan to release the application for their users but they did mention in their blog that they are out hunting for creative flash and web applications developers and those who an added experience with AIR development:

So it’s time that Vimeo users can look up for something useful making its way out the pipeline for them and that just doesn’t hit at an AIR application but perhaps a creative overhaul of the website too. Let’s wait for the AIR to change.
