We had earlier reviewed Viewzi; a service that brought in visual views to search has added another feature to it and this time it’s The Timeline (the results are for my name). The new feature displays results in a left to right manner rather than the conventional top to bottom display of results.
The new feature makes it far more interesting and effective adding more creativity to it. The articles as hovered over get lit up in blue and have a brief description about the result displayed. This makes it easier for the user to have an idea as to what the particular article could be about.
It also uses the timestamp data from Google to arrange its data in right to left order; based on when it was last updated. How do you know which one of the displayed results is more relevant? Viewzi darkness the blue of more relevant ones while dimming out those that are lesser relevant.
Now the issue that I found here (the similar that was pointed by Amanda MacArthur)was the information that just cluttered up owing to the many results displayed. There isn’t a way one can clear those results and it can very well make a person over-look a result or two. But that doesn’t mean we take away credits from what Rob and Travis (creators of Timeline) have come up with something very creative.
