Vietnam is seeking help from Google and Yahoo in order to prevent bloggers from publishing false information online. In the past some years blogging has gained popularity in the country with people from different walks of life using the medium to share their thoughts. Some of the bloggers were interested in discussing sensitive political issues which was not liked by the authorities. A new draft rule is under debate according to which the violator will be fined 12,000 dollars and a jail time of up to 12 years.
According to Nguyen Tu Quang, the director of the government’s Bach Khoa Internet Security Centre:
This is quite a strict punishment but perfectly suitable for those who intentionally release incorrect information about religion, the political system, state and government of Vietnam.

Interesting what will happen. I dont think that Google and Yahoo will help in this situation.
