Video Games playing a big role in revolutionizing businesses

Video games have been around quite a while, providing entertainment for some whereas working like a simulator in trainings for others. Programs similar to games come in handy with training doctors/surgeons – in reducing error rate in practice, U.S. Army – for helping with recruitment, airplane pilots – with flying, etc.

One such ground-breaking use of video games in business was taken by Burger King in 2006. The popular fast food brand released three packaged games to promote themselves – the games contained characters from the company’s brand and the promotion succeeded beyond expectations. Taking note from this McDonald’s joined in the competition and launched an online happy meal where children can play games, create avatars and more entertaining stuff.

It was also learnt that NBA players play NBA Live 2008 to train, that games are helping burn victims, and that the U.S. Army is using games to prevent suicide cases.
