Couple of years back, HopeLab, a nonprofit organization released a shooter game Re-Mission for cancer affected teenagers. The purpose was to make the kids stick to their medication. In a publication in journal Pediatrics, it has been proved that the game did help the kids fight against the disease. According to the journal, kids who played the game for an hour a week were highly expected to follow their medication.
The game is attracting for the teenage cancer patients as it requires a player to kill the cancer cells. HopeLab was founded by Pam Omidyar. Young cancer patients can get Re-mission for free. Users can either order the game or download it here.
