UStream the live video streaming service has made major upgrades to its sites with new features and plans for a new domain name, after its advent into mobile video streaming earlier. Apart from that it has released its own URL shortener, ustre.am to join the gang of a countless out there. The homepage has been redesigned to give a better look, much like the many video sites already, including categories. The homepage also featured videos. The URL shortener is primarily to ease the task of sharing links for a video on Twitter, plus it also enabled the Twitter chat feature that each of its users can utilize. I guess the idea is to leverage the power of Twitter to its maximum potential and boost traffic, that currently accounts for a mere 4% of all it generates.
