image-thumb39 Use Google Chrome without Installing it! Google Chrome is probably the best thing since the first web browser. Almost everyone at Startup Meme has started using this as their default browser, it’s that good. While it’s great, there have been issues though with some people being unable to install it as well. Enters Portable Google Chrome.

This gem of a hack lets you use Google Chrome without installing it to your Operating System. It also lets you bypass the web based installation. It’ll work just like the original installable version does, and save your information to the default installation paths.

Portable Google Chrome can be download here. It has been packed up by the Portable Freeware collection folks, who are known to provide provide portable versions of Firefox and various other software as well. Check out their various other portable releases here

    Nope… still gives me the same Application Failed To Initialize error here at work… So no Chrome at work, sadly.

    I’m still convinced this has to do with the JRE, but who knows…

    My error. lame. A google tech says “We’re working on it” in the group discussion.

    I have to admit, I’m not thoroughly impressed with google chrome. It seems very bland and boring. I too agree to the response above me. Who knows how long until google seems to fade away from the chrome project. Only time will tell..
