One service that has been so widely used by a countless people falls back at one major place; lack of search functionality. The company had mentioned to put up the search pretty soon but there has been nothing that shows progress. But the deal with Summize now done; Twitter would finally have the availability of search for its users.

However with this done the next stop comes at Twitter Mobile; as MG Siegler reports. The shortcoming is not with the speed but with the displaying of messages as you type, given the micro input box and then the other drawback as mentioned comes with the disability to view your tweets. The problem here is that the moment you ward off to previous posts, Twitter has you out from the mobile site. Pretty irritating isn’t it?

The worst thing here is that with the iPhone out; there has been a mass surge of 3^rd party clients but its not good enough as Twitter has to buckle up and do something about the matter on its own or else its set to loose quite a lot when it comes to mobility. Why wouldn’t Twitter try and grope the present technology and come out with something that lets Twitter make the best of it. Though there is the service of getting your tweets via SMS, but with line bearers who charge you for the short texts you get (AT&T) using the SMS would be pretty foolish.

Siegler also states the business plan that every one has eyes at, in Twitter; with concerns as to how Twitter can get cash? There has reportedly been an indication of introducing ads in the Twitter stream as it was pointed out by its co-founder, Ev Williams.

We consider the step of improving the mobile version and doing something about it, just as everyone else is focusing at making everything faster and readily available on the move. But then again, the sort of break downs Twitter suffers, there needs to be something done by the team itself rather than relying entirely on the 3rd party.
