Truphone has made an announcement today according to which Truphone Anywhere application will be available on Android enabled phones including the latest release G1. Truphone is now available in the US, UK and will be launched in Germany and Austria. The handsets which now supports Truphone includes Android, the Apple iPhone, the Apple iPod touch, Blackberry and Nokia. The application can be downloaded in the UK and US through the Android Market.
According to Geraldine Wilson, Truphone CEO:
We want to make it as easy as possible for people to have conversations with their communities around the world in whatever form they choose. We passionately believe in devices like the Android and iPhone which offer easy user access to applications through the Android Market and the App Store in Appleās iTunes. The G1 and the entire Android platform is an obvious and important distribution channel for us.
