twittervision thumb Translate foreign language tweets into English on the go with Twittervision Twittervision had already released their app for the iPhone, but now they have bested it over the desktop version. The iPhone app supports a translation feature which can be used by simply double tapping on any tweet in a foreign language. Twittervision will automatically detect the language and will try to do its best job of translating that tweet into English.

For people who don’t know Twittervision, its a web service that jumps across the globe to provide a location information of the latest tweets in real time. Hoping around the globe would naturally means traversing many continents and jumping into several countries. Now people in each of these different countries speak and tweet in different languages. Previously Twittervision just used to display the tweet as it is, which in most cases didn’t meant any sense for the native American.

The problem is now resolved once and for all, and any tweet could now be translated into English. However this magic takes something around 10 seconds to work and requires the magician holding the iPhone in his hand to be quick enough to double tap on the tweet before it disappears and a next one is displayed. In addition to double tapping you can single tap any link to open it in a new mini window and could also use a newly added bookmark button to bookmark any page.

Enjoy exploring the twitterverse.
