I am a big fan of the Angry Birds on my Android based HTC Desire and there is not a day when I don’t kill time playing it. But seeing those unlocked worlds makes me angry, firstly because it is a huge pain to unlock these by playing. And secondly who has all the time when there is a day job, a blog to maintain and Formula 1 news to follow and write on? I don’t and a bit of work around had me with this step step by guide on how to unlocked Locked Worlds on Angry Birds on Android.

The Apple line of music devices has been great, I personally own an iPod and trust me there is nothing comparable to the quality of picture and sound on it. Though I am not a totally music person, that was one device in the recent times I bought specifically for music. But challengers are coming in, primarily for Apple, we have the Android challenging its iOS devices with high end smartphones, the iPad competitors in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the BlackBerry PlayBook. While that was not all, Samsung has come out with the iPod Touch challenger, the Samsung Galaxy Player.
Steve Jobs has all of a sudden got a big mouth. Not that he wasn’t already, but that was only to do with his product and going loud on the quality of each was quite justified. But I guess the genius took a serious offence when his iPhone fans reported of the Antennagate issue and their disgust as to why such imperfection would come from Apple? He had all the reasons, even brought smartphones from Samsung, HTC and Nokia and demonstrated how each one of them has the same issue and was readily slashed for it. Today he took his chance at slashing the Android, BlackBerry PlayBook and all the upcoming tablets. And he got a reply, from a very silent man of Android, its chief, Andy Rubin.
To many Steve Jobs is the godfather of the modern day smartphones and powerful technology that makes its way from the caves of Cupertino. Apple has transformed how consumers conceive mobile devices, laptops in fact has infused a brand new culture in the tech scene. I wont be wrong to say that Steve Jobs is the man who has taken the idea of smartphone devices from Nokia, HP and Dell [handheld tablets, etc] top bring us the iPod Touch for music [initially], iPhone 2G, 3G/3GS and the iPhone 4, and only recently the iPad. If you have ever used the iPad, you will see how Apple has amalgamated everything into this 9.7 inch powerful device.
Of course competitors have jumped in, of course there will be some challenge from other manufacturers both in the hardware and the software. But despite all this, all my disliking for the cult of Apple, I must admit it has superiority over others. Steve Jobs knows this, he might have been going overboard with the Antennagate issue but his recent ripping off of the Android platform from Google and the plethora of the upcoming Android and non-Android tablets is quite justified. We have the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the RIM BlackBerry with its PlayBook but I bet they will leave something desired. The 7 inch Galaxy Tab by Samsung is a lost cause between the Smartphone and the iPad. Why would someone want to own a device that is large enough to not fit into a pocket yet small enough to disable easy readability? That’s just my opinion for I would rather buy the iPad with an excellent hardware only because of the larger size.
We have reported a countless times of Google leading the race when it comes to smartphone shares. The Android has grown and is growing by leaps and bounds as more smartphone consumers opt for the Android OS. The iPhone has its own dominance but its shares have been dropping down. That by no means should indicate that the iPhone is a bad device or that Steve Jobs’ aging craziness has driven people away from it.
I keep an eye on trends and lookout for reasons why Android is going. Lets keep aside the Android being an excellent OS, lets keep aside the freedom it gives to developers with its Open Environment to regularly update apps in the Android Market Place. Put aside the fact that Apple with its strict policing of the App Store turns your hair gray before your app makes it to the store. Even put aside the hard work that the developer teams put up to bring you jailbreak tools like Limera1n, GreenPoisOn, etc to enable you to use the non-App Store apps. That’s creating a paradox, isn’t it? Let me come to the point.
When you say Android or Apple iPhone people by default think it’s about high priced only for rich smartphones. They aren’t wrong initially, especially in Pakistan where people would want a nice phone with maximum features but affordable enough for everyone. I mean iPhone 4 can cost you a good $1,000 and the cheapest Android Handset from HTC would be $350 plus. These phones, being really worth the price aren’t one meant for everyone’s pocket. However Zong Telecom, keeping the whole price factor and user demand in sight has introduced an all new handset running on the Android version 2.2 aka Froyo.
We had already reported about the Android surpassing the market share of Apple iOS’ based iPhone in the US market alone. I have stated always that a massive reason for Android’s explosive growth has been the mobile OS being open source. The second being its immediate powering up of numerous smartphone devices from numerous manufacturers which include HTC, Samsung, Motorola and Nokia. But the platform itself is powerful enough and developers are already populating the Android Market place with loads of apps. It already has over 70,000 apps, which is of course a third of Apple’s 225,000 apps in the App Store.
Google just released its financial earnings for the third quarter and the results are remarkable. The earning have jumped up by over 23 percent to around $7.3 Billion with the net income rising to $2.2 Billion. The quarter to quarter growth stood at 7% with the share price climbing to $7.4.
From the financial summary, the Q3 shows strong gains over what the revenue was in the same quarter in 2009. The net income grew from $1.64 Billion in 2009 to $2.17 Billion in the current. The primary source of revenue demographically was the US where Google registered close to 50% of its total revenue, amassing $3,517 million compared to $2,929 Million from the rest of the world, excluding the United Kingdom where it generated $840 Million.
If you come across a car speeding on the roads of San Francisco and your kid in the backseat jumps calling it a ghost a car, relax. What you just saw was Google’s latest brainchild. The automatic cars are part of Google’s robotics research and these have been moving around in the SF area and have already covered over 140,000 miles. All this can come from Google and I have no doubts regarding this.
The cars utilize multiple technologies ranging from radar sensors, video cameras to laser range finders to map traffic on the go. Of course there’s a human driver on the seat to take charge if there is a malfunction of any sort.
Remember Goog – 411? The 911 for business listings started back in 2007. It was available for free and people could get listings on their mobile devices via SMS as well other than using voice commands to control the same. However, Google now thinks it has stretched the service long enough and its time to pull the plug.
The reason why the service was launched wasn’t really because Google wanted to be the dervish and help people out. The search giant was primarily concerned with collecting voice data to improve its Voice recognition technology. This is exactly what we see on numerous smartphones with us, primarily the Android and on the iPhone, Nokia, Windows and the BlackBerry smartphones.
