The ever popular photo app for the iPhone, Snapture today made a few upgrades the most important of which is enabling users to share photos on Facebook and Twitter. Apart from that, it also released features like different color modes and an auto focus function with just a tap. The app is pretty nice which is exactly why people would pay $1.99 for it. There are a whole of features available which include multi shot mode and sharing via email and its popularity can be measured by the fact that it has been downloaded over 700K times. You can add to the list by downloading it here.
eBay has loaded off Skype but the ecommerce site is not holding itself back. Today it announced the launch of its iPhone app which is called Deals. That’s not all, it has also updated its existing app for the iPhone and iPod Touch and the reason to power its mobile offering is definitely the financial aspect. According to eBay’s own estimates the sales on its mobile site will cross over $500 Million as the year comes to an end. Its app has already been downloaded more that 5 million times, across 77 countries, which isn’t surprising given that it really makes the user experience worth all the time spent. You can download its existing app here and Deals app here.
Google Wave is on the App Store and apparently neither Google or Apple is aware of that. Reports state that there is already an app for the much praised Google Wave at $0.99. Wow and I bet it’s still out there, kudos to CLapps who also develop games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The developer is definitely going to enjoy it while it lasts, which means until people at Google get after it and have it removed. I am surprised that if Google Wave is already functional on the iPhone, why haven’t they launched the app as yet?
SearchTrends that displays search trends from numerous search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, Twitter, etc has released its app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The idea is to provide and easy way to keep yourself updated on search words, events and news using the app. Which means that you don’t need to actually go to the source in order to get the news, rather it comes to your mobile device, informing you on what is making news across the globe. The Free app can be downloaded here.
If a new app is not made available at the App Store, I can gulp it down and say it just didn’t get green. But a seasoned and a very popular one that has been around for quite some time vanishes, it looks odd. The TweetDeck app has seen the same, and has vanished from the scene after being around for quite some as the Twitter client on the iPhone. The reason? Appears it wasn’t bug free and caused a whole of crash and burn to have Apple pull it out. Though the bug free version has been submitted, but as it is with Apple, it wont rush with things and take all time to ensure it is bug free. I hope the update is out soon enough for the TweetDeck fans.
RadioWeave the online platform which combines social media with radio to bring the same to the Web and mobile devices has geared up to release Soundbiter, an app for the iPhone. The app is also available for the iPod and it has no cost attached. The app works pretty well by recording anything that is played on your device and saves the last 60 seconds. Once you are done, simply hit the button to stop recording and you are ready to edit the sound bite. Some of the features it includes are:
If you are one of those people who are always on the move and want a much simplified and quicker way to keep a check on property than MousePrice has the right app for you. The application for the iPhone launched in the UK and is available for £2.99 and provides free property searches. The application is effective for the estate agents who can search and compare prices for various properties, saving you all the tiring efforts on calling numerous agents or visiting places to inquire about prices and compare them. And since there is no limit to the searches you perform and the results are based on your location, the property pundits would definitely feel the urge to have it.
It was only a week back when we informed that the apps at the App Store had crossed the 100,000 mark. Today however, Apple confirmed the numbers as the official report confirmed reached the milestone. And that is more than impressive in just a little under a year and a half. The chart above shows category wise distribution apps at the app store and the games lead the shares with a 16% share followed by books and entertainment at 13%.
I won’t be surprised if many a musicians in times to come will be using the iPhone or the iPod Touch to make music. Why do I think that? Well there is one music app after another coming up and the latest ones are from GrooveMaker released GrooveMaker Electro and D’n'B. The two apps enable anyone to create their own tracks and be a DJ on their own. So if you had that groovy thing in you that was waiting to jump out, GrooveMaker has the right apps for you to let your musical soul out and create full length songs in a matter of minutes.
