HearPlanet , the iPhone and iPod touch app is a pretty cool mash-up of detailed local information so you can search for a city, search for places etc. And the news is prevailing the air that the app is readily available on the website as a FREE app only for this week.

The app finds items like museums, stadiums, zoos, and other landmarks or popular attractions. You click on one of the destinations, and the app starts reading about it. Some of the entries are short, others are quite detailed. When you tap the play button HearPlanet switches you to speaker mode so you can share the information you’re getting. It also makes it nice for car travel.

3D is the hottest buzz in tech town at this time of the year. Wazabee just released a 3DeeShell for the iPhone. You may be wondering what in the world is this? Well this is a iPhone case that lets you view stuff in 3D, no glasses required. Yup I said, no Glasses required!!!

The case is made up of screen which actually enables you to see 3D content on your phone easily and intuitively as well. The company said that, it will start rolling out the cases in March this year to the consumer market fixed at a price of $50 each.

Truphone will be bolstering its iPhone app by integrating Skype. The app already enables users to make low charging calls over the given networks and send text messages. Skype will be coming to your iPhone on January 12 and will be better than Skype integration already offered by both Nimbuzz and Fring. This integration have revenue flooding in but will definitely act as a perfect bait to fish more users into getting the app.

Easy Writer is a free iPhone application that enhances the email experience from the device. Users can write a new message in the Mail after which the application can be opened in the landscape mode. For better readability, users can even zoom in to the text. When a user is done writing the message, he/she just have to press the Send to Mail button at the upper right corner of the application. Until these features are added to the Mail by Apple, this application is a good alternative.
