The New York Times has released an all new New York Times Reader app today. The new reader is based on Adobe Air meaning that it has waved goodbye to Microsoft’s Silverlight. The app is pretty sleek and makes reading your paper a lot cheaper around $15 than actually subscribing for the print version which is $40 a month. Plus it makes reading news more environment friendly by promoting digital form of its paper. While the app is pretty nice in itself, I don’t quite see the point why someone would need a dedicated app when you can actually read the same on the website? I mean you have to use your system for both right?
