Apple has accomplished yet another feat as its App Store reached half a billion downloads in less than 200 days. The numbers increased in the holidays and saw downloads increasing heavily.

This would be credited to iPhone and iPod Touch sales as well, as the craze has spread widely amongst the consumer population. Applications have also started to come in rapidly as many developers have emerged to join in the high-paying activity. On this note Steve Jobs stated:

This thing’s going to crest a half a billion, soon. Who knows, maybe it will be a $1 billion marketplace at some point in time.
