Technorati, the blog search engine, expanded its third round of financing to include some more investors and a raise a few more bucks. The company raised $7.6 million in third round of financing last June and have now expanded it to $11.52 million. DG Incubation, the operator of Technorati Japan, is listed as a new share holder. Previous investors in the company include Draper Fisher Jurvetson, August Capital and Mobius Venture Captial.
Technorati is facing increasing pressure from search services like Google Blog Search and Sphere and Blogging social networks like MyBlogLog. They have recently acquired PersonalBee and are also on the outlook for a new CEO to take the company to an IPO or an acquisition.

I want to see how this plays out. On May 10th, Kottke.org talks at length about Technorati, and includes a link to a helpful previous post. Eventually, Technorati won’t be able to keep up with its competition and Dave Sifry is looking for his golden parachute.
