PersonalRIA, yet another service that debuted at TC 50, wants to help you monitor your portfolio and connect with trustworthy advisors who have what it takes to take your investments to the next level.
PersonalRIA presented at the Finance and Statistics session of TC 50, which also saw the launch of EmergInvest, a startup that wants to manage your portfolio across the globe.
PersonalRIA provides a lot of information about advisors such as full disclosures about them, the reason behind the buying and selling sprints, and other particular information regarding their investment interests, moves and strategies.
In case you find an advisor that suits your investment taste, you can add him/her to your portfolio page and thereby would be able to get an activity stream on his moves. That’s not the end of the game, similar to EmergInvest that takes you all the way down to the door step of the brokerage house, PersonalRIA lets you add your brokerage account to the service and than let your preferred advisor manage your portfolio for you.
Once you have shifted the management of your portfolio to your advisor the service diversifies your portfolio to match that of your advisor irrespective of the funds in your account. In the future your portfolio would be managed according to the suggestions of your advisor.
PersonalRIA’s business model revolves around charging commission of 0.5% of the funds that you will be managing through it. This amount will help the service to cope up with the trading and maintenance costs.
PersonalRIA is based in San Francisco, California and has raised $2 million in venture funding till now.
