When I read, hear or say that the Web will eventually become the center of every activity, I believe it without a second thought. Presently, Hulu is set to stream Dave Matthews Concert Live on its video streaming service. While this is definitely a sign of web services adopting more of such initiatives, I wonder what are the cable guys thinking about? Surely they don’t need to loose focus that they have lost quite a concert, but it shows signs of the potential the Web has. So what’s coming next to video streaming? Sports matches, TV shows?

Netflix has got itself a pretty nice deal with Microsoft and with that the streaming video service will now be available at Windows Media Centre. This would bring over 12,000 of it Netflix’s TV episodes and movies to the Media Centre. However, the bad part of the deal is that it would only be available to the users of Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate, meaning XP users will have no access to the service. It’s pretty obvious that Microsoft is definitely bent upon adding more content to its Media Centre to engage more users. Not bad, I guess this is something Microsoft should have begun doing a long time back plus there is one more thing it needs to do, try and offer its XP users more, instead of making many of its service a no-enter zone for anything less than Vista.
Mogulus has at last rebranded itself in a manner that best defines the purpose it fills; streaming video. The brand is now known as Livestream; the name which describes pretty much what the service is about. The live streaming service presently as more than 160,000 producers signed up with over 250,000 channels. I welcome this change for the previous wasn’t really a crowd puller and many of the people might just have thought it to be anything but a live streaming service (personally I never really understood the purpose behind it). The service is available to both producers and aspiring broadcasters via a free ad supported service and a premium one that provides producers with additional features. It presently has over 1,000 paying Pro members signed up for its premium service.
