Zynga has made it big with its Farmville madness on Facebook. Involving Russians with their heavy investments in the social gaming company, as well as users who have flocked in to waste countless hours making it worth $4 billion. I guess everyone has played a part in making it what it is and whatever was left, Steve Jobs participated further by announcing its legendary Farmville to the iPhone at the WWDC. The latest news is Frontierville, the Farmville reincarnation with the touch of the Wild West.

It’s not that the game is an imitation alone. The game has been modified, albeit the game play being so familiar to the regular Farmville farmers. For example you can now have control over the other avatars and increase the populous, maintain a reputation to gain more popularity amongst your users.

For all those Fans of the famed Sid Meier’s Civilization and who are equally addicted to Facebook there is some news for you to look forward to. Take Two Interactive is planning to keep the Civilization mania off Facebook for a few more months and would be bringing it to the platform by June. I know many of you are a bit shattered, but hey patience always bears fruits worth it.

The game has been a huge hit in the strategy category, the development of which goes back almost two decades, in 1991. Much like the many games like Age of Empires, etc it enables users to battle and evolve technology to expand their empires. Stepping into the social network, the game will definitely make most of the network’s social aspects. I mean the whole excitement lies in multiplayer gaming and once it steps into Facebook, with no charges to play it, the game will definitely grow exponentially.

Everything goes up and goes down and while certain names might be invincible they too are bound to see the rise and fall. Coming over to the social gaming across the social networks, the year that was had been. 2009 was the that proved to be very beneficial for all social game developers, primarily those making games for Facebook.

The year ending in no manner meant that these developers are going to quit making more of these. Why would they? We have developers getting loads of users all the way to massive rounds of funding. There is too much demand to meet and users on social networks want an even larger variety to kill time with. The latest report talks  about 25 top apps for December, 2009; Zynga rules supreme with its Farmville on top with a gargantuan 73,852,787 users followed by a very distant Birthday Cards app which has less than half that number (32,330,476 users) and Cafe World close at third with 31,129,783 users.

Since Facebook is growing rapidly growing by millions [350 Million and counting], I just thought isn’t there a governing body to control its population? Maybe not because the more this population increases the more revenues pour in and the higher the social network climbs. But there must be many a users whose profiles meet demise and it has no impact, I mean I never got to know that more than a dozen of my friends deleted their Facebook profiles.

So how do you make an impact upon deleting the profile? Social social social, there has been so much emphasis on the word and an excessive emphasis on its benefits that it used to bite me hard. Never liked anyone talking about it and now I am here, because it is important in every manner. We have seen so much revolve around the word that it will be pretty stupid for anyone to deny its importance. Now I am just dragging this one and getting into a lecture mode. Lets be specific and talk about the Social gaming.

I talked about Zynga’s Farmville in detail yesterday and how it continues to grow exponentially. And that is bound to increase as Christmas approaches and users get showered with more Christmas centric apps. What is this doing? Well there has been a marked improvement as Zynga got a boost of over 1.8 Million users everyday to crawl over 28 Million mark while, followed by Birthday Cards from RockYou, which climbed to 2.9 Million after it added another 1.7 followed by the third placed Quiz Planet which went past 1.2 Million daily users. Each of those apps has increased by over 50% but look at the drastic difference between Farmville at one and those at number two and three that is phenomenal and I am being humble here. But that isn’t my point of the debate here, given that those apps have been around for quite some time.
