We had mentioned the release of the Redsn0w 0.9.6rc15 by the iPhone Dev Team a day before and mentioned that the release will support untethered jailbreak for all iOS 4.3.3 devices. And as the release makes way the Web gets flooded with how tos and guides on jailbreaking your iPhone, iPod Touch or the iPad. One day off from from blog and it already seems that I have missed out all the news in the world. We have been up and about with the GreenPois0n Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 for both the Mac and the Windows as well as sharing a guide on how to use this. There was however some news earlier regarding Apple closing the untethered exploit on the iOS 4.3 b3, rendering the GreenPois0n useless.
There have been many request lately on people inquiring about the untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak for all the existing iOS devices. The Chronic Dev team had been in works and has finally released the GreenPois0n RC5 for all Apple. The major difference between GreenPois0n RC5 and the Redsn0w 0.9.7 is that you aren’t required to have the SHSH blobs of 4.2 beta 3 on Cydia.
Windows users might just find this news lucky as the iPhone Dev Team confirmed a short while back that they will be releasing the Windows version of the Redsn0w. This will enable users on Windows to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 using the iOS 4.1 IPSW rather the iOS 4.2 Beta 3 firmware as well as the SHSH Blobs.
First things first, don’t expect the Windows release to breeze through like it does on the Mac OS X. The primary reason for this is that the Redsn0w 0.9.7 for Windows will be utilizing filesystem instead of the RAM. Here’s a bit of information shared by the deb team on the release: Read More »
While developers recently inclined at releasing the tethered jailbreak version, the Chronic Dev team is thinking contrary. Unlike the Redsn0w 0.9.6 tethered release the Chronic teams Greenpois0n for iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak will be releasing an untethered version.
We reported a week back about the iPhone Dev Team releasing its Redsn0w 0.9.7 earlier and we also mentioned a step by step guide on how to jailbreak your iOS devices with the same. The Dev Team has released the beta 8 of the Redsn0w jailbreak tool.
The update made to Redsn0w is minor and the release candidate provides notifications to those using a custom untethered boot logo image for any .png file that is invalid. I bet the Redsn0w will eventually have all its errors fixed and users will be able to utilize all functions using the Redsn0w jailbreak tool on their iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad. Not exactly sure if this would work on the rumored iPad 2?
We reported about the release of the Backup Plan, Untethered Jailbreak for iOS4.2.1 with Redsn0w last Sunday and also shared a detailed guide on how to perform the untethered jailbreak. The release was actually a beta release of the tool and has been continually getting bug fixes of late. Today MuscleNerd announced another update for the Redsn0w 0.9.7 beta.
Christmas gone nothing happened but we did see a lot happening as Comex pulled back his version of the untethered iOS jailbreak and gave hope of an alternative. However the iPhone Dev Team has lived up to our expectations as they just released their Backup Plan.
Quite a lot of excitement recently with all the news on the untethered jailbreak tools coming this Christmas. Though Comex pulled off the release of his version of the Christmas gift, MuscleNerd of the iPhone dev Team is taking full advantage of the long weekend.
We had talked about the coming of the newest unlocking tools for for the iPhone 3GS and 3G on the iOS 4.2.1. This would unlock you 3G and 3GS models on the 05.13.04 baseband. I guess it is clear for all that the iPhone 4 is not included since it has a different baseband for the OS.
The iPhone Dev team on their blog have written in detail regarding the unlock. One good bit is that this unlock might very well work on your iPad on 3.2.2. Although this has a baseband of 06.15.00 the Dev team specified that it has a similar exploit [AT+XAPP] like the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS. Users will be able to unlock it on their Mac devices using the PwnageTool with the redsn0w set to be released soon. We will be sharing the step by step procedure soon with you all, but for the time being we are sharing what the Dev Team has mentioned on their blog.
