In a bid to help users easily customize and integrate their video player into platforms from various companies, Livestream has released new APIs. These new plugins can be utilized by services like Brightcove, etc. The idea is to open up its existing linear video streaming platform for third party players and platforms. Livestream Player API lets users create their own Livestream powered video players and clips using Adobe Flash or Flex, HTML development environment. The major step in this regard cam in with its partnership with Brightcove that enabled Brightcove users to stream live and linear video via Livestream directly into their Brightcove player.
Livestream, formerly called Mogulus has announced its partnership with FOX 5 New York. FOX 5 joins Livestream amongst its various partners that use its Procaster service. FOX 5 will be streaming Good Day Live, Online using Livestream Procaster for encoding, 3D effects and media to its live audience. This shows how Livestream is extending the reach, interactivity and relevance of broadcasts without adding anything to the production costs.
Mogulus has at last rebranded itself in a manner that best defines the purpose it fills; streaming video. The brand is now known as Livestream; the name which describes pretty much what the service is about. The live streaming service presently as more than 160,000 producers signed up with over 250,000 channels. I welcome this change for the previous wasn’t really a crowd puller and many of the people might just have thought it to be anything but a live streaming service (personally I never really understood the purpose behind it). The service is available to both producers and aspiring broadcasters via a free ad supported service and a premium one that provides producers with additional features. It presently has over 1,000 paying Pro members signed up for its premium service.
